Himanshu Raghav
PhD Scholar, 2019-Present
I am a researcher, currently holding the position of Senior Research Fellow at CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum, under the mentorship of Dr. Bipul Sarkar and Dr. Shailandra Tripathi. I have qualified for the UGC-NET thrice in Dec 2017 (AIR 40 JRF), June 2018 (AIR 42 JRF), and Dec 2018 (AIR 15 LS), as well as GATE in 2018 and 2019. My research is centered around the synthesis of metal oxide-supported catalysts, with a specific focus on their application in the alternative production of light olefins(C2-C4). With a profound passion for scientific exploration and a commitment to advancing the field of catalysis, I am dedicated to making valuable contributions to the ever-evolving realm of chemical research. My hobbies are sketching, writing, and playing cricket.
Neha Dhiman
PhD Scholar, 2019-Present
I am currently working as a senior research fellow in the catalytic depolymerization area under the supervision of Dr Bipul Sarkar and Dr Sudhakara Reddy at the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research, CSIR- Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun Uttarakhand, India. My research focuses on a heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of petrochemicals using dehydration/dehydrogenation properties of metal nanoparticles & hydrophobic metal oxide. I completed my BSc (Chemistry Mathematics and Physics) and MSc (organic chemistry) from KLDAV (PG) Roorkee college, HNB Srinagar Garhwal university Uttarakhand. I Qualified CSIR-UGC NET (LS)& (JRF) [Jun 2017, and Dec 2017], Gate [2018]. My Hobbies are traveling, cooking, and listening to Music.
Bhanu Joshi
PhD Scholar, 2020-Present
I am working in the field of heterogeneous catalysis as a PhD student (DST-INSPIRE Fellow) at CSIR-Indian Institute of petroleum, Dehradun since 2020 under the supervision of Dr Bipul Sarkar. My current research work is “Investigating Catalytic Depolymerization of Waste Plastic to Chemicals on Defect Rich Metals Oxides”. I completed both my B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) from D.B.S (PG) College Dehradun, affiliated with H.N.B. Garhwal University, 2015 and 2017 respectively. I qualified CSIR-UGC NET (LS) [Dec 2018, and Jun 2019], GATE [2020 and 2021], TIFR [GS-2019] and BARC [OCES/DGFS-2019]. In June 2020 (~6 months), I joined as Project Assistant-II in CSIR-IIP on the project entitled “Development of catalyst and alternate process for light olefins from syngas”. My hobbies are traveling, sketching arts, writing and sports.

I am currently working as a Project Associate in the catalytic depolymerisation area (UWRD) of CSIR-IIP Dehradun, under the supervision of Dr. Bipul Sarkar on the projects “Analysis and upgradation of Pyrolysis oils for meeting fuel specifications as per BS-IV/VI” and “Enhanced production of α-olefins by thermal/catalytic degradation of high-density polyolefins”. I have completed my Btech in Chemical Engineering from Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institue of Technology, Uttarakhand.

I am currently working as a project associate in the catalytic depolymerisation area of CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun under the supervision of Dr. Bipul Sarkar on the projects "DEPLOUP- Waste plastic depolymerisation and upcycling".I completed my MSc(organic chemistry) from Kazi Nazrul University. I qualified GATE [2022] . My hobbies are traveling, cooking and listening to music

I have completed my Masters in Chemistry from Uttaranchal University in 2023. Subsequently I joined CSIR-IIP as a Project Associate in the Catalytic Depolymerization Area (UWRD). I also qualified the GATE-2023 examination. My hobbies include watching series, reading novels and writing

Project Associate, 2022-Present
After earning my master's degree in chemical science from HNBGU, I embarked on my professional journey as a project associate-I, working under the guidance of Dr. Bipul Sarkar at CSIR-IIP. The project I'm involved in is titled "DEPOLUP," which focuses on the depolymerization and upcycling of waste plastics. In addition to this, I qualified GATE 2022 & 2024 examination. My personal interests encompass activities such as trekking, traveling, reading, and playing cricket.
Poorna Tyagi
Project Associate, 2023-Present
I am currently serving as a Project Associate-I at CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum in the Suscare Lab, working under the supervision of Dr. Bipul Sarkar. My primary research focuses on producing propylene and hydrogen through propane dehydrogenation. I am a recipient of the Vice Chancellor Gold Medal for both my bachelor's and master's degrees from Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut. I have successfully qualified in various competitive examinations, including IIT JAM 2019, and ICT Mumbai M.Sc. Entrance 2019, GATE 2022, and GATE 2023, and was among the NPTEL Star Performers in the Analytical Chemistry program. Driven by a deep passion and a strong commitment to advancing sustainable chemistry, I am dedicated to making a lasting contribution to this dynamic field. I find interest in reading novels, indulging in music, and playing basketball.
Aishwarya Juyal

I’m currently working as a research intern at Upstream & Wax Rheology Division under the guidance of Dr. Bipul Sarkar at CSIR-IIP. My research is focussed on the fabrication of heterogeneous catalysts for production of value-added chemicals from waste grade plastics. I’m also pursuing my Masters Degree in Chemical sciences from Doon University, Dehradun. Beyond the world of academia, I have a deep passion for travelling and a love for music.
Anjali Dimri
Project Associate, 2023-Present
I am currently working as a Project associate-I in the catalytic deploymerisation area (UWRD) of CSIR-IIP under the mentorship of Dr. Bipul Sarkar. The project I am working at focuses mainly on waste to wealth mission entitled as “ Feasibility of producing benzene rich aromatics from waste cooking oil (WCO). I completed my masters in 2022 from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar and during my masters I conducted research thesis on natural products (phytochemistry). I have qualified various exams such as joint CSIR-UGC NET LS (Dec 2022- June 2023), NET LS Dec 2023, GATE 2024, CUET PhD 2023 and USET 2024. I have ardent passion towards singing and my hobbies are dancing, cooking and reading.

I am currently serving as a Senior Project Associate at Upstream & Wax Rheology Division,CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum working under the supervision of Dr. Bipul Sarkar. I have acquired a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (2023) with thesis entitled ‘‘Supercritical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanoferrogels for Electroanalysis of Control Release Simazine” under the supervision of Dr. M.G.H Zaidi from GBPUAT Pantnagar. My areas of research interest involve synthesis and processing of polymeric materials in supercritical fluids and their electroanalytical applications.

Currently Research Scientist at Reliance Industries Limited
I am currently working as a Research Scientist at R&D, Vadodara Manufacturing Division, Reliance Industries Limited, in zeolite catalysis and pilot plant operations. Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in CO2 capture and conversion. I completed my PhD with Dr Bipul Sarkar at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum in the heterogenous catalysis field. My research aims to synthesise metal-supported mesoporous catalysts and process optimisation of on-purpose continuous production of C2-C4 olefins at low temperatures. My PhD thesis entitles “Synthesis of metal-supported catalysts for low-temperature continuous production of olefins”. I have published 11 research articles (Science Citation Indexed) and 2 US patents. I worked as a project assistant in the analytical division at HP Green R&D Centre, Bengaluru. I obtained my BS-MS in chemical science from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali. Other than research, I am passionate about computing and technology. My hobbies are driving and gaming.
Dr. Omvir Singh

Dr. Omvir Singh is an active researcher and has completed his PhD at CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum. He was also selected for BRICS young scientist 2022 conclave. His research is focused on Unconventional feedstocks(non-edible seed/used cooking oil) upgradation into useful chemicals over heterogenous catalysts for sustainable processes. This exposure would be beneficial to explore the Nano-catalysis and heterogeneous catalysis for petrochemicals waste to energy and the application of Nanomaterials towards the conversion of non-edible seed oil or used cooking oil into useful aromatic hydrocarbons. The advantages of converting Biomass/non-edible seed oil or used cooking oil into aromatic hydrocarbons are most reliable, such as direct compatibility to present existing energy and chemical source systems built upon the petrochemical industry. During his research work, he has synthesised different mesoporous materials or nanomaterials and characterised them using different instrumental techniques (XRD, BET, TEM, SEM). He has published more than 10 scientific research articles and 2 US patents in his research.

Shubham Singhl

I worked as a Project Associate in the catalytic depolymerization area of CSIR-IIP, Dehradun, and was involved in different projects during my tenure. I was engaged in the production of Bio-aviation fuel from plant-based oil and the preparation of nanocatalysts for the reforming of methane. Additionally, I worked on the extraction of useful chemicals from non-edible oils. At that time, I was also working on the upgradation of Plastic Pyrolysis oil to meet fuel specifications.
Before that, I had completed my graduation and Masters in Chemistry from HNB Garhwal University, Uttarakhand. Furthermore, I had qualified for the CSIR-NET (LS) in 2019. In my free time, I enjoyed reading books, novels, and listening to music.

I worked as an intern in the field of heterogeneous catalysis at CSIR-IIP, Dehradun from June 2022. I was under the guidance of Dr. Bipul Sarkar during that time. My research work at that point was "Upgradation of Waste Plastics to α-Olefins". I was pursuing my Integrated Master’s Course in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Polymer and Material Engineering from ICT-IOC, Bhubaneshwar (2018-23). My hobbies included painting, sports, traveling, and gaming.
